Doctoral Thesis: Openness to Argument The Thesis argues that humans are rational and open to argument. It discusses supposedly closed systems of ideas in science, religion and politics and their adherents, showing how they are, despite appearances, open to argument and counterevidence. Analyses openness to argument in terms of psychology (Popper's world 2) and methodology and logic (Popper's World 3) and explores how these domains interact. It draws on logic, scientific methodology, history of science, evolutionary biology and epistemology, economics and psychology. Please see abstract. Grants and Fellowships.
